Cardboarding from school
Latin American editorial experiences

“Cardboarding from school”, an exhibition under the investigation and curatorship of María José Montezuma, collects the experiences of creating cardboard projects – their objectives, scope and limits – in school spaces, deepening the link between students with reading and writing, in addition to highlighting the role of teachers.
The cardboarding movement emerged in Latin America and, from the first moment, it was an active channel witch permitted that more people can access to the art and the culture through photocopies and recycled cardboard covers. These book creation initiatives, transferred to a school context, allow children to become authors, illustrators and editors of their own stories.
In the exhibition, visitors will be able to learn about the objectives of the Latin American editorial experiences, learn to bind their own book and take time to read, touch and enjoy the texts produced.
